As an educator, I have been privileged to share in the wonder and discoveries children find in books–the budding attention to pictures and words, the delight in participating in human story, and the moment of blossoming and independence as they entered that sanctity of reading for themselves. It was an honor to share in this blooming of the mind.
That is why I write for them.
