Bio

Much of Megan Ray Durkin’s writing for children celebrates the natural world. As a teacher reading aloud to children for so many years (over thirty), she loves a nonfiction story that captures the wonder of a young audience. Having lived and taught in many places in both the United States and Asia, many of her stories reflect cultural themes as well as elements of land stewardship and animal care taking. She focuses her work with a Montessori educator’s view of the child. Besides striving to make the world a better and friendlier place, Megan hopes to bring her love of learning to her role as a teacher and author and to develop that lifelong passion in children.
